Two key Democrats who might be eyeing a run for president in 2028 are making appearances in New Hampshire this week. U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, of Connecticut, will be in the Granite State on Wednesday, where he will be holding two events. He is planning to attend a Merrimack County Democrats event at The Centennial Hotel in Concord at 12:30 p.m., and will follow that up with a "Stand Up New Hampshire" Town Hall at Saint Anselm's New Hampshire Institute of Politics at 7 p.m. "Senator Murphy is one of the Democratic Party’s rising stars and a leading voice on the key issues of our time. He is no stranger to New Hampshire having campaigned here for state and presidential candidates so we are excited to welcome him back for this important discussion," said Democratic party activist Jim Demers, one of the organizers of the event. Meanwhile, two days later, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, of New Jersey, is scheduled to be in New Hampshire, also for two events. He will also attend a "Stand Up New Hampshire" Town Hall at 3:30 p.m. at the New Hampshire Institute for Politics “I’m excited to talk with Granite Staters about standing up together in this critical moment for our country," Booker said in a statement. “New Hampshire's enduring tradition of civic engagement and political participation is in so many ways a model for how we not only fight back against the abuses of this Administration, but how we chart a path forward to build a stronger, fairer country." Later that night, Booker is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the New Hampshire Democratic Party's annual Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner at the Sheraton in Nashua. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., and he is expected to speak around 8 p.m. Murphy and Booker's visits to the first-in-the-nation primary state come after several visits by potential 2028 candidates earlier this year. Back in October, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear attended a fundraiser for the New Hampshire House Democrats Victory Campaign in Concord, a happy hour supporting the Manchester City Democrats and a house party in Nashua, according to Politico. And U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna, of California, visited the state back in September for the first-ever "Stand Up New Hampshire" Town Hall event. Other Democratic candidates who have visited New Hampshire this year include U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego, of Arizona, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, of Minnesota.
