2027: No court cases against ADC— Publicity Secretary

African Democratic Congress (ADC) Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has denied claims of court cases challenging the leadership of the party adding that the party is not aware of any legal challenges to the leadership.

Abdullahi while speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Wednesday, stated, “We are not aware of any case, any legal case against the ADC. What we have is the administrative process of changing the leadership of the ADC from where we’re coming from to where we are going.”

Abdullahi also explained that the party’s leadership transition was a result of an administrative process, and that the current executive committee is recognised by INEC.

“We’ve made that transition effectively. Now we can move forward with the task of building our party.”

The ADC spokesperson also addressed concerns about the party’s performance in recent elections, attributing it to the fact that the elections took place shortly after the party’s leadership transition.

“The election happened less than a month after we came into the party,” Abdullahi said. Most of the candidates were doing it on their own.”

Abdullahi expressed optimism about the party’s future, saying that the recognition of the party’s leadership would give more confidence to its members across the country.

“This will now give more confidence to our membership across the country,” he said.

The ADC spokesperson also highlighted the party’s commitment to building a mass political party that can mobilize people across the country.

“We want to build a real political party that stands for something, that believes in something,” Abdullahi said.

Abdullahi further emphasized the importance of the party’s leadership transition, saying it would enable the party to move forward with its agenda.

“Now that we have done this and have this substantive executive, we now begin to do systematic registration of members,” he said.

The party’s goal, Abdullahi said, is to provide Nigerians with a viable alternative to the current ruling party.

“We want Nigerians to get to 2027 and ask themselves, has this ruling party improved our lives? And decide whether they want to continue with this ruling party or they want to change,” he said.
