16 Indian Immunologists, Scientists shine in Stanford University 2025 Top 2% Scientists List

New Delhi: Altogether 16 Indian Immunologists, scientists from prestigious health and medical institutes across India, have been recognised among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the database curated by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, in collaboration with the Elsevier Data Repository.This honour acknowledges their pioneering research, clinical achievements, and consistent impact on the field. The database of Stanford University for the year 2025 of top-cited scientists provides standardised information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted h-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score). The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a 2% or above percentile rank in the sub-field.Here are the details of the Indian immunologists and scientists included in Stanford University’s 2025 list:1. Dr Vivek Chavda Experienced Formulation scientist for Parenteral Formulation, Dr Vivek Chavda, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology of L M College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. He is a B Pharm and M Pharm Goldmedalist at Gujarat Technological University. He is a six sigma green belt from the university of Munich, Germany. Before joining to Academics, he served to the Biologics industry for almost 7.5 years in Formulation and Process development (Research and Development) of Biologics with two successful regulatory filing at Lupin Biotech (Pune) and Dr Reddy’s Laboratory (Hyderabad). He has more than 70 national and international publications, 15 book chapters, 10 book chapters under communication, 1 patent in the pipeline and numerous newsletter articles to his credit. He is currently editing 4 reference books with international publishers like Elsevier, Weily and CRC Press. His research interests include the development of biologics processes and formulations; medical device development, nanomaterials, nano-diagnostics and non-carrier formulations, long-acting parenteral formulations, and nano-vaccines.As per the list, Dr Chavda holds a rank of 12,100 in the list based on the composite score excluding self-citations, and 7,272 when all citations are included. By the end of 2024, his h-index, excluding self-citations, stands at 17, with a total of 1,222 citations for 2024 (excluding self-citations).2. Dr Kanjaksha GhoshProf. (Dr.) Kanjaksha Ghosh, MBBS (Hon.), MD (Med.), DNB (Haem.), MNAMS (Path), MRCPI, MRCP (UK), MRCPath (Lond), FRCP (Glasg), FRCPath, FAMS, FACP, FNASc, FICP, FISHTM, is a distinguished haematologist and researcher, currently retired, who has held several prestigious positions including Director of the National Institute of Immunohaematology (ICMR), Mumbai, Director of the International Haemophilia Training Centre at NIIH and KEM Hospital, and Director of Surat Raktadan Kendra & Research Centre.He has also served as Director of the BMT programme at SQUH, Oman, and Coordinator of the BMT programme at Leicester Royal Infirmary, UK, besides senior roles in Kuwait and India at PGIMER Chandigarh and KEM Hospital, Mumbai. With 756 research papers published in peer-reviewed national and international journals, over 150 research projects completed under ICMR, DBT, DST, CSIR, and international organisations, and more than 400 abstracts presented at conferences, Dr Ghosh has made significant contributions to medical research.He has authored 34 book chapters, delivered over 30 orations, and served on numerous editorial boards, advisory committees, and selection panels. Prof Alok SrivastavaA renowned Haematologist, Prof Alok Srivastava, is Professor-Research and Head, Haematology Research Unit, St. John’s Research Institute and Senior Consultant, Department of Clinical Haematology in the St. John’s Medical College Hospital at Bengaluru, India.
