12 Live-Action Star Wars Shows We Need To See After Ahsoka Season 2

With Ahsoka Season 2 set for release next year in 2026, Lucasfilm has yet to confirm what comes next in the galaxy far, far away when it comes to Star Wars on the small screen. The Mandalorian’s story is continuing in theaters with The Mandalorian & Grogu, while other series like Andor and The Acolyte have either concluded or been canceled. Following Ahsoka season 2, what will the future of Star Wars live-action television look like? Thankfully, there are several exciting possibilities. Whether it's second seasons, revisiting classic characters, or exploring corners of the official canon we’ve only glimpsed, here are 12 Star Wars live-action shows we think Lucasfilm needs to make after Ahsoka season 2. The Book of Boba Fett Season 2 The Book of Boba Fett season 1 may have ended with the former bounty hunter claiming Tatooine's Mos Espa as its new daimyo, but continuing to rule could have its own share of trials. A second season could easily explore Fett expanding his operations, while also giving the show and character some much-needed redemption after a fairly divisive first season. Actor Temuera Morrison deserves the chance to show more of Boba’s growth and evolution beyond his current crime lord status, recapturing what made fans love the former bounty hunter in the first place. Skeleton Crew Season 2 Inspired by the Amblin Entertainment movies of the 80s, Skeleton Crew was an incredibly fun story set during the New Republic Era. Jude Law’s Force-sensitive pirate captain was an absolutely fascinating character, as was the crew of kids seeking adventure among the stars. As such, a second season could easily deepen the Amblin-style adventure with brand-new explorations into the galaxy far, far away. Rogue Squadron Originally planned as a movie directed by Patty Jenkins, it's recently been rumored that the perpetually-in-development Rogue Squadron might be retooled as a series on Disney+. With that in mind, a more serialized television format could arguably highlight individual characters to a greater degree, while also showing the day-to-day of pilots flying for the New Republic. Having been sold as Top Gun meets Star Wars, it would be exciting to see this story finally be told, regardless of the format. The Hunt for Ben Solo In a similar vein, perhaps Adam Driver's Hunt for Ben Solo movie pitch, which Disney rejected, could be reworked as a miniseries event, especially now that the Star Wars fandom knows of its existence and has been rallying for its revival ever since. Reportedly covering elements of Ben Solo's redemption that Driver felt went unexplored in the sequels, it would be fascinating to see Ben's story continue after The Rise of Skywalker (as there are so many ways Star Wars could easily explain Ben Solo's survival). The Hidden Path (Quinlan Vos) 2022's Obi-Wan Kenobi series teased the Hidden Path, a secret network saving Force-sensitives and their families during the Dark Times of the Empire's rule. Since then, the Path has been featured in both EA's Jedi: Survivor and in the animated series Tales of the Underworld. Confirmed to be led by the Order 66 survivor Quinlan Vos, it would be fascinating to see a live-action series centered around one of the Jedi Order's most dynamic members. A Hidden Path show could easily mix the grounded realism of Andor with Jedi mysticism, delivering one of the most incredible Star Wars shows yet. Darth Vader With actor Hayden Christensen having returned for both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, it's been argued there's room for a Darth Vader series set during the years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. This could follow Vader hunting Jedi survivors, bringing down insurgents, and/or struggling to bury remnants of the life he once lived as Anakin Skywalker. Even if it was just a limited series adapting stories from 2017's canonical Darth Vader comic set during the same era, a Hayden Christensen-led Darth Vader show would break Star Wars fans' minds. Jedi - Cal Kestis After two beloved Star Wars video games, Order 66 survivor Cal Kestis very much deserves his live-action moment. Cameron Monaghan already plays the character perfectly, making a Jedi: Cal Kestis series a no-brainer, especially if EA's recent purchase by a large private equity firm potentially puts the third game in jeopardy. If a third game doesn't happen, Lucasfilm should absolutely pivot with a live-action series picking up after the events of Jedi: Survivor. General Grievous A General Grievous prequel series would undoubtedly have to be equal parts body horror and tragedy. It could explore his transformation from Kaleesh warrior to a mechanical monster, and how Count Dooku manipulated his rage, turning him into a deadly Jedi-killing droid general for the Separatists during the Clone Wars. Seeing General Grievous' organic past, his cybernetic reconstruction as Darth Vader's predecessor, and the toll of his obsession on-screen would make for a surprisingly emotional villain origin story, while also allowing fans to see the popular villain in live-action once more. Knights of the Old Republic The Old Republic Era (set thousands of years before the prequels) remains Star Wars’ richest unexplored era in the official canon. For example, A KOTOR series could finally adapt the story of Revan and Malak, two Jedi who fell to darkness and reshaped the galaxy as Sith Lords, before Revan himself was ultimately brought back to the light. Without a doubt, this could be the Game of Thrones-level Star Wars saga fans have desperately wanted for years. Dark Lords of the Sith (The Stranger/Plagueis) Even though The Acolyte was canceled, several Star Wars fans have voiced their interest in some kind of Dark Lords of the Sith spin-off show that could dive into the canonical journey of Darth Plagueis and his pursuit of immortality. The show could also include delving further into the enigmatic history of Manny Jacinto's Qimir aka The Stranger. A Dark Lords of the Sith series could also explore Qimir's past and how he seemingly abandoned the teachings of both the Jedi and the Sith. Teases of Qimir being the First "Ren" have recently been confirmed as well, suggesting he may have founded the dark side warriors.
