10th Egyptian-Lebanese High Joint Committee Session Wraps up

Cairo, November 02 (QNA) - The 10th session of the Egyptian-Lebanese High Joint Committee concluded on Sunday, chaired by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and his Lebanese counterpart, Nawaf Salam. During the session, 15 agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), and executive programs were signed in various fields, including the economy and trade, transportation, higher education, agriculture, energy, finance, public administration, the environment, administrative development, industrial cooperation, and consumer protection, in addition to promoting cooperation among the two countries' regulatory bodies. At the conclusion of the meetings, the two sides held a joint press conference, during which they stressed the depth of both countries' relations and their keenness to develop them in various fields as to serve the common interest of both nations. During the press conference, the Egyptian Prime Minister affirmed his country's full support for the Lebanese government's efforts in preserving Lebanon's stability and territorial integrity, adding that Egypt condemns in the strongest terms Israel's recent attacks and violations in southern Lebanon, calling for an Israeli withdrawal from the five hills it occupies. Once Lebanon regains these locations, Egypt will be very keen on supporting the Lebanese government in reconstruction and needed development projects in southern Lebanon over the coming period. For his part, the Lebanese Prime Minister said that the two sides discussed issues that touch citizens' daily lives, including energy, water, higher education and research, healthcare, agriculture, environment, technology, transportation, and sustainable development, in addition to signing a number of agreements and MoUs.
