On Vijaya Dasami, the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS) at Prasanthigram in Sri Sathya Sai district commissioned an ₹8 crore robotic system, developed by SS Innovations. The system was inaugurated by RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, and is intended to advance surgical care in cardio-thoracic surgery and urology, according to a press release.

Minimally invasive robotic procedures offer patients reduced blood loss, lower infection risk, less pain, and faster recovery, while giving surgeons enhanced precision and access. Mr. Rathnakar said the system reflects the Trust’s commitment to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s vision of free, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare. The initiative positions SSSIHMS at the forefront of advanced surgical care in India, integrating modern technology with timeless human values, the press release added.
