“Touchin road in a year”: DJ Akademiks reacts to reports claiming Diddy will be released in 2028

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has confirmed that Sean "Diddy" Combs could be released from prison on May 8, 2028. The rapper is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted on two charges of transportation for prostitution.Combs was arrested in September 2024 on multiple charges of transportation for prostitution, racketeering, and sex trafficking. In July this year, he was acquitted of other charges but convicted of transportation for prostitution. On October 3, he was sentenced to 50 months in prison, including the credit for over a year he had already spent behind bars. Now, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has confirmed that Diddy could be released on May 8, 2028, which will be around 85% of his total sentence. He could gain a “good conduct time” as part of the First Step Act to be released on the aforementioned date. DJ Akademiks, meanwhile, has reacted to this report, writing in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, October 27:"Diddy touchin road in a year n some change realistically."DJ Akademiks @AkademiksLINKDiddy touchin road in a year n some change realistically.Along with his 50-month sentence, Combs also received a $50,000 fine and five years of supervised release.White House denies claims that Donald Trump could pardon DiddyREVOLT And AT&T Summit - (Image Source: Getty)TMZ had reported earlier this month that the US President Donald Trump is considering giving Sean Combs a pardon. However, the White House denied any such claims in a statement to NBC News on October 21. They stated:"There is zero truth to the TMZ report, which we would’ve gladly explained had they reached out before running their fake news. The President, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations."TMZ, meanwhile, published another report that day, asserting that they stand by their original story. Donald Trump had told the reporters on October 6 that Combs had asked him for a pardon, saying:“A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon.”Meanwhile, in an interview with Newsmax, published on August 2 this year, Trump said that giving a pardon to Combs was difficult, explaining:“You know, I was very friendly with him [Sean Combs]. I got along with him great, and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”The rapper's team had also confirmed in August that they had approached the White House for a pardon. Also Read: How many years has Diddy been sentenced to? They claimed that this would allow the rapper to stay closer to his family and also take part in the drug rehabilitation program. However, Judge Arun Subramanian declined the request, stating (via The Hollywood Reporter):"The court will recommend a facility in the geographic location of the defense’s choosing, but not the specific facility, which is determined by the Bureau of Prisons.”Combs is serving his sentence at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Also Read: Was Diddy almost killed in prison?
