The Cincinnati Bengals are mourning the loss of former tight end and broadcaster Bob Trumpy, who passed away peacefully at 80. Bengals president Mike Brown remembered him as “an exceptional and rare tight end” whose speed and deep-threat ability set him apart. Trumpy played for Cincinnati from 1968 to 1977, recording 4,600 yards, 35 touchdowns, and four Pro Bowl selections, all franchise records for a tight end. “As a broadcaster, he made his mark both locally and nationally, and excelled at sports other than football in a career that was as successful as what he accomplished on the field. He did it all very well and I regret his passing,” Brown said.
