“It doesn’t impact my sales”: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Issues icy response to being target of Anthony Edwards’ damning taunts

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander issued an icy response after being targeted by Anthony Edwards' damning taunts. The reigning MVP was subtly hinted at by Adidas during their commercial for the AE2, and offered a response on Monday. During an appearance with the media, SGA was questioned on the taunts by Edwards. The Thunder star said he understood it was “business” and offered a witty response. "Good question. I mean, it is the business of marketing; you talk about things that are hot and going to get clicks for yourself, so I understand it. It's all fun and games though, it doesn't impact my sales though if you guys can't tell," SGA expressed. Edwards and Adidas took friendly shots at SGA and his deal with Converse during the announcement of the AE2. In the advertisement, comedian Katt Williams delivered a monologue about the two stars before remarking that Converse is no longer an NBA partner "for a reason." "Attention player haters and overrated disbelievers of all kinds. I stand before you today ten toes down, as the bearer of bad news," Williams expressed. "I know what y'all gonna say, there's a certain 2-guard not named Anthony Edwards, who's all the rage right now ... But he's lucky his game is as smooth as his little poems because them shoes? No, thank you. The game left that brand behind for a reason." However, Converse clapped back with a video of their own, showing an ant walking through the sand accompanied by a caption aimed at SGA: "Nothing left 2 say? Unbelievable," the message read. With both athletes dropping their second signature shoe this season, we could be witnessing the rise of a new rivalry both on and off the court. When will Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Edwards face each other this season? The OKC Thunder and the Minnesota Timberwolves will renew their rivalry once again this season as they battle for supremacy in the West. Led by young superstars, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander got the better of Anthony Edwards during the Western Conference finals last term and the two will once again look to outshine each other this year. Their first meeting of the season will come on November 26 as the Timberwolves travel to the Paycom Center, while the Thunder will visit Minneapolis a month later on December 19. This will be their final meeting in 2025. The teams will meet again on January 29, 2026, at the Target Center, before wrapping up their regular-season series on March 15.
