Bihar Election 2025: RJD leader and INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Monday hit out at the Election Commission of India (ECI) for “not disclosing gender-wise voter turnout data” from the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, alleging irregularities and bias under the BJP-led central government. Addressing a press conference in Patna, Yadav claimed that it was "unprecedented" for the Commission to delay the release of such information. “The EC has not disclosed the gender-wise data of electors who cast their votes on November 6 even after four days have passed from the first phase of assembly polls. This is happening for the first time. Earlier, it was given immediately,” he said. Accusing the Commission of "failing to function independently," Yadav alleged it was acting under the influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. “The commission has stopped functioning properly under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister,” he claimed. The RJD leader also warned officials against “colluding with the EC or Amit Shah,” saying they would face “dire consequences” if they interfered in the electoral process. “We will not allow vote theft or dishonesty under any circumstances,” he said. Yadav questioned the deployment of security personnel from BJP-ruled states for poll duties. “Altogether 208 companies of security forces from BJP-ruled states have been deployed in Bihar. Around 68 percent of police observers are from BJP-ruled states. Why is it so?” he asked. Accusing the BJP of trying to “control Bihar through outsiders,” Yadav said, “Outsiders, including Amit Shah, want to control Bihar, which the people of Bihar will not allow.” He also took aim at Prime Minister Modi’s campaign speeches, saying the PM avoided real issues such as unemployment and migration. “The Prime Minister came here for poll campaigns but indulged in negative politics. I don’t know what sort of web series the PM is watching these days,” he quipped. Yadav further accused the BJP of ignoring corruption within its ranks, naming several leaders allegedly facing graft charges. Exuding confidence in his party’s prospects, Yadav said, “We will take oath on November 18.” For the Latest news, India News, Bihar Election 2025 updates and breaking stories from around the world, visit Times Now for live coverage and in-depth reporting.
