‘Very entertaining’ – RTE viewers all praise Late Late Show guest as he goes on rant about app

RTE Late Late Show viewers were all left “entertained” by one hilarious guest’s rant. Patrick Kielty returned on air tonight to host the third episode of the new season. The Down native sat down with a host of guests tonight including former First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon, football legend Martin O’Neill, Dundalk folk rebels The Mary Wallopers and the two surviving members of the Miami Showband, Stephen Travers and Des Lee. Patrick also interviewed comedian Neil Delamere, who chatted about life on the road and his latest stand-up tour, which is already selling out venues nationwide. The Offaly native gave a quick shoutout to his “legendary” dad who turned 90 and added: “The rest of the family will be on all on WhatsApp all delighted. “We all text each other after stuff like this or if anybody has a celebration or anything like that.” This discussion prompted Neil’s hilarious rant about how the messaging app can change their settings for the better. He said: “I love WhatsApp. I have one request if anybody who’s watching this who works for WhatsApp let us delete the messages. “Just let us delete the message like it was never written. Don’t delete the message, but then write, ‘Neil has deleted the message’, like a little telltale informer. “So your friend still text you, ‘What was in that text message’. “You know when it says delete for me or delete for everyone who picks, ‘I’m just gonna delete it for just for me, I still want them to see the awful stuff I’ve written about them’.” RTE viewers were all left in stitches and completely agreed with him. One fan said: “I am SO with this guest – the annoying thing when WhatsApp AND Teams tell people you’ve deleted a message!“ Mags tweeted: “Love Neil Delamare.” LATE PERFORMANCE Maire wrote: “I’m in agreement with @neildelamere on this one who the hell chooses THIS WhatsApp option #latelate.” Amy remarked: “Very entertaining.” The Mary Wallopers kicked off tonight’s show with an outstanding performance of their latest single, The Juice. Brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy also sat down with Kielty to chat about their whirlwind summer and discuss why they don’t shy away from taking a stand. They reflected on their set at Victorious festival, which made global headlines after they were “cut off” for displaying a Palestinian flag on stage. And music fans were blown away by their performance tonight as they raced to social media to praise the band. Hilary said: “The most fun live band ever.” Amy wrote: “Very genuine people.”
