The BJP on Wednesday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his comments made during a joint rally with RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar, accusing him of insulting PM Modi, Bihar voters and undermining Indian democracy. I would urge you not to be swayed by the drama of Narendra Modi. He would be ready to dance on the stage if he sensed that it would fetch you votes.” The comments have sparked a sharp political exchange ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, with the BJP accusing the Congress leader of demeaning voters while the Opposition continues to target the ruling party over unemployment and governance issues in the state. They are simply using the face of Nitish Kumar.” Gandhi also targeted the ruling BJP at the Centre, calling it “against social justice,” and said that it was only after pressure from the opposition that the Narendra Modi government agreed to conduct a caste census. He further alleged that “two Indias are emerging” — one for ordinary citizens and another for a handful of billionaires. “This is the reason that places like Bihar suffer in poverty, with its vast potential remaining untapped,” Gandhi said. Criticising the prime minister, the Congress leader added, “You all must have seen the drama that PM Narendra Modi wanted to enact by declaring that he was going to take a dip in the Yamuna on the occasion of Chhath Puja.
