Toru Kubota’s war documentary My Camera, My Gun was presented with the TAICCA X CNC Award at the close of TCCF Pitching, a four-day pitching event held during Taiwan Creative Content Fest (November 4-7). The Portugal-Japan collaboration received a cash prize of $30,000 from the two sponsors of the award – TCCF organiser Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and France’s CNC. The $20,000 (NTD600,000) Hami Video Creativity Award, sponsored by Taiwanese telco Chunghwa Telecom, went to Danny Tseng’s sci-fi thriller Soul Lantern, produced by Taiwan’s D-Day Pictures. TAICCA also presented a TCCF MyPick Project Award worth $3,300 (NTD100,000) to Filipino series Never The Bride, produced by Fire And Ice Media, Volos Films and Ghost City Films. Never The Bride, which was selected in the ‘Series Themed Session: If Romance Comes Again’ category, was also the recipient of a Series Mania Award, along with The Ones I Killed And The Ones Who Killed Me, produced by Taiwan’s GrX Studio. The two projects will participate in the 2025 edition of Series Mania in Lilles, France. Also the romance series catetory, Taiwanese 10-part drama Do You Still Love Me? was a multiple winner scooping five awards from sponsors including Taiwan’s Eastern Broadcasting Co, Taiwan Mobile, Formosa Television, TVBS Media and udnFunLife Co. Inspired by the play Hello Marriage, Goodbye Love, the series is produced by Mimi Wang and Chang I-ting and written by Hsu Chao-jen. In the feature film category Calendar Studios’ Goodbye My Love picked up the CJ ENM HK Global Vision Award, as well as an award from Chiayi City Government, while other multiple winners included Bridge Head Co’s Mother Tongue and Naked In Glendale, produced by Seesaw Productions and Q&A Entertainment (see full list of winners below). In the story category for published works, Taiwan’s Mirror Fiction Inc scooped three prizes – the TAICCA Award (Best Story) for Rogue Bookstore; the Glory IP Award for Promise To Bring You Home and the TCCF MyPick Story Award for A Sketch Of A Female Serial Killer: Taiwan’s Only Female Death Row Prisoner And The Murders That Shocked A Nation.
