Swiss rider Dettwiler was gearing up for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday when he collided with world champion Jose Antonio Rueda. Join now and get your first month for just $1. Teenage star Rueda ploughed into the back of Dettwiler during the sighting lap in a crash which sent both riders flying. Dettwiler, 20, had been travelling at reduced speed – most likely because he was investigating a possible problem with his bike. Copied URL to clipboard Although both riders were airlifted straight to hospital, Rueda got away with a fractured hand and a concussion. But Dettwiler’s condition is much more serious. Blick have reported that the Swiss rider suffered “multiple cardiac arrests”, fractured his leg, damaged his spleen and lungs, and “lost a lot of blood”. Dettwiler’s dad, Andy, says doctors “fought for his [son’s] life”. His parents jetted out to Malaysia immediately and he is now understood to be in a stable condition. We will not be sharing further details at this time. “Noah is a true fighter, and the entire CIP Green Power team is right behind him.
