A 29-year-old Indian man, living in Abu Dhabi for one and a half years, has become a multimillionaire overnight after winning the UAE’s biggest-ever lottery jackpot. He won a staggering prize of a Dh100 million (over Rs 240 crore) jackpot in the 23rd Lucky Day Draw held last week. Anilkumar Bolla matched all seven numbers in the draw, beating incredible odds of 1 in 88 lakhs, according to the Dubai-based newspaper Khaleej Times. In a celebratory video shared by UAE Lottery on X (formerly Twitter), Anil was seen receiving a ceremonial cheque amid a shower of golden confetti. He revealed that he had bought 12 tickets in one go, using the Easy Pick option that automatically generates number combinations. However, one number, 11, was deliberately chosen to honour his mother’s birthday. The milestone win makes him the first-ever Dh100 million winner in the history of the UAE lottery. Expressing that he feels lucky to own the first biggest prize in UAE lottery history, Anil shared his story behind choosing his lucky ticket. “I haven’t done any magic or something, so I just chose the Easy Pick… I bought 12 tickets, and the last number is very special. It’s my mom’s birthday,” he was heard saying in a video shared by the UAE Lottery. Describing the life-changing moment, he recalled, “I was in shock. I was sitting on the sofa, and I’m just feeling that, yes, I won it.” Anil Kumar Bolla’s Future Plans For Himself And His Parents The young winner shared that he intends to use the money responsibly. “I was just thinking about how I need to invest this amount and spend it in the right way. After winning this amount, I felt like I have money. Now, I need to work on my thoughts in the right way, and I want to do something big,” he said. Anil also revealed his plans to bring his parents to the UAE, buy a supercar, and celebrate his success at a 7-star resort. In the video, he said, “I have a dream to buy a supercar. I want to celebrate this moment in a great resort or a 7-star hotel. I just want to take my family to the UAE, and I want to enjoy my whole life staying with them.” “My mom and dad have very small dreams, and I want to fulfil all their dreams. I want to take care of them,” he added. Anil Kumar Bolla Commits To Charity The 29-year-old winner further reveals that he also has plans to donate a portion of his winnings to charity. “I do have a plan to donate some of the money to charity. Because I believe that donations will reach out to the people who will really require the money. So that gives me core happiness,” he expressed. Expressing gratitude to the UAE Lottery, Anil concluded with an encouraging message to other participants, “I believe everything happens for a reason. I suggest each and every player keep playing, and for sure, one day luck will come to you.” According to Khaleej Times, the UAE Lottery has reportedly produced more than 200 winners of 100,000 dirhams, and over 100,000 players have collectively claimed over Dh147 million in prizes since its launch.
