Parker now faces an uphill battle to ever fight his back towards a title fight. Wardley, meanwhile, now owns Parker’s WBO interim heavyweight title and is the mandatory challenger to Usyk’s undisputed belts. Wardley was formerly the WBA interim champion. He collapsed after Foster cut in to separate the fighters. He naturally called out Usyk when handed the microphone in the ring. “Usyk, where are you,” he told the roaring crowd. “We planned for this, all credit to Parker he gets all the respect from me, he took everything I threw at him and didn’t want to go. “We knew he was tough and stubborn and he knew we had to pick our spots. “What I lack in experience, I make up for in chin, heart and will. “It hasn’t sunk in yet. Everyone said I wouldn’t make it or go anywhere. “I am not taking things away from Joe but I was never hurt or buzzed, I made mistakes. “I am not the perfect amateur with footwork but I get the job done. “I keep going and I throw punches until the ref makes me stop.” Join the conversation (2 Comments) Add your comment to this story To join the conversation, please log in.
