You can take an Indian out of India, but you can’t take the IRCTC love out of a desi traveller. A hilarious viral video from Europe is making Internet users laugh out loud and relate hard. A travel vlogger named Prateek shared his shocking and funny experience of buying a €5 (approximately Rs 500) water bottle on a European train, which made him miss Indian Railways. The video begins with Prateek sitting on a train, sipping water, when his wife, who is filming him, teasingly asks, “Prateek, tell me again, how much did the water bottle cost?” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Prateek Jain (@prateek06jain) To this, he dramatically replies, “This is the most expensive water in my life!” He, then, explains that unlike in India, where vendors frequently roam the passages selling tea, chips and water, European trains are completely vendor-free. “Here in Europe, no one comes to sell water in the train. In India, they sell 10-20 bottles of water for Rs 20. And we get irritated, why are so many people coming? No one comes here,” he says, laughing. According to the vlogger, he and his wife had been sitting for over four hours without spotting a single food or water vendor. Finally, they discovered that one bogie in the middle of the long train had a restaurant. From there, they grabbed a bottle of water only to discover it cost €5 (Rs 500). Refundable Charges For Water Bottle Prateek adds that the price of the bottle included €0.5 ( Rs 50) just for the glass bottle, which was refundable if he returned it. “So now I’ll drink the water and return the bottle,” he says. He captioned the video as, “India ki trains ki yaad aa gayi. Koi popcorn bechne bhi nahi aaya.” Internet Joins In For Fun Of course, desis wasted no time adding to the fun in the comments section. One user joked, “A similar glass bottle costed us 9 Euros in Amsterdam. Sasti mil gyi!” Another wrote, “Proud of not buying a single bottle throughout my Euro trip.” And then came the ultimate comment that read, “IRCTC supremacy. A section of users, however, had different views, as one of them wrote, “But far better than Indian railways.” Another added, “Salary, hygiene, civic sense ye sab bi deklo zara.” The video quickly went viral across, with many Indians admitting that the country offers many conveniences for tourists.
