What might have been lost. That was the thought that occupied Graham Burke’s mind in the days that followed Shamrock Rovers’ hammering of Kerry FC in last month’s FAI Cup semi-final. The Dubliner had just helped the Hoops to a first decider since 2020 as their eyes turned towards securing the point they needed to clinch a fifth title in six years. There was European business looming around the corner too, but Burke found himself struggling to shake off that gut feeling for several days.
