After she passed away, the actor discovered that he had a sister living in Hyderabad. Thirteen years passed before he met her. After they reunited, he took on the role of a protective brother with deep affection. However, his determination remained unbroken, and he returned stronger in 2003, appearing in songs with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan titled Tuje Aaj Main Ne Jo Dekha.
