‘I Am Done, Sir:’ Techie’s Viral Resignation On WhatsApp Has Internet Saying ‘Money Isn’t Everything’

For many people, a steady job is the backbone to support their families. But for today’s youth, mental well-being is above all. When workplaces turn toxic, even the best jobs become unbearable because of a difficult boss, pushing employees to an extent that they hand in their resignations and walk away in pursuit of peace. A recent viral resignation shows a similar situation where frustration finally boiled over and the user decided to bid farewell. The post, shared on X (formerly Twitter), features screenshots of a WhatsApp chat between a tech professional and his manager that ends with a tense breakdown of their professional relationship. Manager’s Attempt to Apologise The conversation begins with the manager reaching out to apologise for a prior incident. He expressed regret and urged the employee not to take it personally. Trying to mend the strained rapport, he reassures the employee of his continued support and goodwill. “Again I wanna say bro… Sorry for yesterday. Don’t feel bad or take it personally. Always there for you,” the message read. Later that day, the manager attempts to make contact again through a video call, which goes unanswered. He follows up with another message, asking where the employee is and expressing his concern and eagerness to reconnect. Employee’s Firm Decision to Leave After several hours of silence, the person conveys his final decision with absolute clarity. He informs his manager that he is done and intends to send his resignation email immediately. Ashutosh responds decisively, “I’m done sir. Resignation mail bhej raha hu apko. I’ll not continue here.” This is the end… Hold your breathe and count to 10. pic.twitter.com/qY7LUp97Gv — Ashutosh Nautiyal (@ashutosh_0_7) October 24, 2025 How Are Social Media Users Reacting? The post quickly went viral, garnering over 2.4 million views and 11,000 likes. Many users resonated with Ashutosh’s decision, applauding his courage to prioritise self-respect and mental health. “Money is not everything! Self-respect should not be traded for anything,” read a comment. Another wrote, “Stay strong brother. Nothing should be higher than peace.” “I don’t know what situation you’ve been through, but I also resigned a few months ago out of self-respect. I had backup plans though, so I didn’t think too much about continuing with the toxic manager,” shared a user. An individual stated, “Stress nahi lene ka. Talk to people who love you and respect you. You made the right decision & just look forward to what happened in the past.” “I know something your instincts might have said. That’s why you took this decision. Whatever happens, happens for good. Stay strong. Everything will be fine, Ashutosh. Something great is on the way. All the best,” said another. An account posted, “Great decision, and from here, the door of opportunity opens because you’re strong.” “Every exit is an entry somewhere. May you get a better opportunity now,” echoed a few. Caught off guard, the manager expresses a desire to connect with him through a call, but Ashutosh refuses. He clearly states that he no longer wishes to discuss the matter further, signaling his final goodbye.
