When Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) returned to Days of Our Lives earlier this year, fans quickly began speculating online about whether he might reunite with his ex, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein). In a new interview with The TV Water Cooler, Klein addressed those rumors and hinted that the show is taking the storyline in a surprising direction. During her interview with The TV Water Cooler, published earlier this week, Klein was asked directly whether a romantic reunion between Stephanie and Jeremy might be coming. “It’s not in the way that you would maybe imagine.” Klein told The TV Water Cooler, teasing that the reunion may take an unexpected turn. Klein added, “Definitely stay tuned because it’s not at all what you expect and I’m really happy about that,” she said. “I think it was a really interesting direction that the writers ended up taking with Stephanie’s relationship with Jeremy…” The actress continued, encouraging fans to see how the story unfolds. “You’ll see why… But it makes sense,” she explained. “I’m trying not to spoil anything, but it’s so hard! It’ll all make sense on how their relationship ends up being the way that it is. As their romance intensified, viewers saw Jeremy’s abusive behavior emerge. As he began tormenting Stephanie for months, both mentally and physically. One noteworthy hot tub encounter resulted in Jeremy holding Stephanie’s head underwater before gaslighting her that “he loves her.” The pair ultimately split, and Jeremy was later arrested for his involvement in criminal activities. Now that he’s back in Salem, Jeremy insists he’s turned his life around, and has begun working as a teacher at the local school, but whether he’s truly changed remains to be seen.
