The BBC One hit game of wink murder was back after what felt like an interminable wait from last week’s episodes. With the seventh instalment came the long-overdue banishment of traitorous Jonathan Ross, who has been walking, talking Teflon in the Scottish castle up to this point, perhaps masquerading underneath a series of odd sartorial choices. But one of the most notable aspects of last night’s roundtable wasn’t the exile of the TV presenter, so much as the hints of animosity between two other cast members. That is what body language expert Judi James has picked up on, after a series of volleys between Alan Carr and Joe Marler. The rugby player called on Chatty Man Alan specifically to offer up his thoughts to the group, adding: ‘I haven’t heard a huge amount from you at roundtables… Open up your lugholes.’ Alan Carr shared his ‘suspicions’ of Joe Marler (Picture: BBC) Joe Marler called Alan out on not speaking at the roundtables (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry) Alan initially took issue with the accusation that he doesn’t speak during the tense showdowns, asking Nick Mohammed to back him up. Joe replied: ‘I didn’t say I wanted you to say anything. I said I’d quite like to hear from you. If you don’t want to do that, I’m not forcing you.’ Then, as Alan accused Jonathan and Joe of being Traitors later in proceedings, he said of Joe: ‘He’s always there planting the seed. I know he has this quite weird persona with the way he stares at people.’ Alan added: ‘You’re so OTT [over the top]. You’re almost glaring at Jonathan. I thought, is it so big that actually you make it impossible to vote for Jonathan because it’s just so out there?’ Alan said Joe is ‘over the top’ (Picture: BBC/Studio Lambert/Euan Cherry) Speaking exclusively to Paddy Power Bingo, body language aficionado Judi James has said the moment appeared to show genuine anger from the comedian. ‘Alan’s anger seemed real as he attacked Joe at the round table and it had previously appeared real when he argued with Mark,’ she said. ‘The celebs love Alan when he is sweet, funny and harmless but these displays of anger would be something they might all want to avoid. ‘The celebrity version of this show is all about love and adoration even when they are destroying each other but Alan’s ability to fight for real, including some odd insults to Joe last night looked like something they would prefer to deflect personally.’ The Celebrity Traitors returns on BBC One at 9pm tonight.
