Team India all-rounder Harleen Doel left everyone in splits after she asked PM Modi about his skincare routine during the interaction at his residence on Wednesday, November 5. India women ended the ICC trophy drought and defeated South Africa in the final to win the maiden Cricket World Cup. After the win, the team and coach Amol Mazumdar, along with the BCCI President Mithun Manhas, met the PM. "The team environment should always be light-hearted. I feel that when the people around me are happy, it creates a positive vibe," Harleen told PM Modi. "But here, they scolded me and told me to stay quiet," she added with a laugh. "Mujhe aapki skincare routine puchni thi, aap bahut glow karte ho sir (I wanted to ask you about your skincare routine, sir — you really have a glow)," Harleen said. Harleen's question left the entire Indian team, along with PM Modi, burst into laughter. Responding to Harleen, PM Modi said his glow comes from the blessings he has received over the years. "I haven’t really paid much attention to this topic, but this glow comes from the love and blessings of millions of people, that’s true. It’s a great source of strength. I’ve been the head of the government for 25 years now, that’s a long time. But when you receive so many blessings, it shows," said PM Modi. A Topsy-Turvy RideMeanwhile, India's run to the title wasn't smooth. The team lost back-to-back games to South Africa, Australia, and England and faced a must-win situation against New Zealand. India, however, bounced back strongly and beat New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa in knockout matches to win the title. This was India's first World Cup win in three attempts at the title. Earlier, the team lost the final in 2005 and 2017 to Australia and England, respectively.
