The Brazilian fighter, despite his limited English, has grown into one of the biggest superstars in the sport. His ability to connect with fans through sheer presence has only strengthened his global pull. Many analysts believe Pereira recapturing the light heavyweight title is a relief for the UFC from both a business and marketing standpoint. Usyk, 38, has not fought since his knockout win over Daniel Dubois at Wembley in July. He recently reversed his retirement plans and intends to fight until age 41.His next opponent is expected to be Britain’s Fabio Wardley after Wardley’s win over Joseph Parker. During a recent chat with OLBG, Atlas said:"Winning the heavyweight title. But now that you know that you're coming towards the end, he may wanna do it a little differently, outside just the regular realm. And part of that is to fight Pereira. Pereira, he's not a traditional boxer, he's a big name, he's a scary guy, he's thought of as a sort of boogeyman in his field, of the UFC, of MMA. What better way to finish up?" [H/t: Mirror]
