Veteran Channel Nine presenter Bob Puccetti has passed away aged 93 at his residence after a lengthy illness, according to confirmation from his family. The American-born broadcaster rose to prominence as host of Nine's popular Mid Dawn programme in South Australia during the 1980s and became a familiar face during advertisement intervals in weekend film marathons, according to Mail Online. The presenter, who leaves behind three children—Rina, Chris, and Mike—earned the title of "king of late-night television" during his broadcasting career. His daughter Rina announced the news via social media, asking: "Does anybody remember the Midnight to Dawn Show on Channel 9 in the early to mid-80s?" "It was hosted by the legendary Bob Puccetti. Sadly, Bob passed away a few days ago at the grand old age of 93," Rina wrote, reports the Express . "His media career included stints at The News, Channel 9, and 5AA with the late Bob Francis. "He also played a key role in organising The Look of the Year Quest, a well-known modelling competition in Adelaide during the 1990s and early 2000s. "He was universally liked by everyone who met him, and he genuinely loved people," she added in the heartfelt tribute. Messages of condolence have flooded social media for the cherished television personality. One person commented, "Wonderful man, remember him on TV fondly." Another remarked, "We had some great times, great memories. "RIP, Bob, you were a pioneer in both radio and TV," a third tribute read. "A real down-to-earth person," another person posted, whilst one simply said, "RIP, great man." Another commented, "What a lovely man he was."
