The Rise Up Championship – Pickleball By The Bay 2025 witnessed one of its most intense mixed doubles clashes as Divyanshu Kataria and Pearl Amalsadiwala fought their way into the final. “We had a strategy, and Amol and Miika played really well. Congratulations to them on winning the bronze medal,” Kataria said after the match. “I’m super happy to be in the finals. My partner played incredibly well. She was very solid. I was just trying to put balls and support her.” Amalsadiwala echoed his words, adding, “Yeah, we had a really solid match. It was a very long one. We were not able to convert at first, but eventually we did. Congratulations to Amol and Miika for the bronze.” Asked about their opponents, Kataria was quick to acknowledge the balance of competition. “All of us are almost on the same level and it can be anyone’s match,” he said. Looking ahead, Kataria underlined what victory in Chennai would mean: “I’m super excited to win the gold medal tomorrow. Of course, the ranking points will help us in Indian tournaments and international tournaments also, hopefully.” On the tournament atmosphere, he said, “The venue is amazing. The courts are also very good. They even had a music concert for us. It’s really well organised by PWR and I look forward to tomorrow.” Facing familiar competition in the final, Kataria added, “We are all in the same team, Global Sports. So we know each other’s games. Let’s hope for the gold tomorrow.” Reflecting on the wider rise of the sport, he summed it up simply: “It’s just incredible how pickleball is growing in metro cities. I’m super excited.” About Indian Pickleball Association: The Indian Pickleball Association is the official governing body for pickleball in India and is dedicated to promoting, developing, and organising the sport across the country.
