ReutersAmazon founder Jeff Bezos Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has shared a bold vision for humanity’s future, envisioning a time when millions will live and work beyond Earth. Speaking at Italian Tech Week 2025, Bezos predicted that by 2045, vast human colonies will exist in space while robots will manage routine commutes and tasks on the Moon and other celestial bodies.“I don't see how anybody can be discouraged who is alive right now,” Bezos said, expressing optimism about the rapid technological progress shaping the coming decades. He emphasized that innovation will unlock opportunities beyond imagination, with space becoming a natural extension of human civilization.Robots to Take Over Lunar WorkBezos believes that within the next 20 years, human life in space will become a reality—not out of necessity, but by choice. “In a couple of decades, there will be millions of people living in space. That’s how fast this is going to accelerate,” he said. “They’ll be there because they want to, not because they have to.”He further explained that humans won’t need to physically travel for work in extraterrestrial environments, as robotic systems will handle most surface operations. “If you need to do some work on the surface of the Moon or anywhere else, we’ll send robots. It’ll be far more cost-effective and efficient than sending humans,” he added.Live EventsAI Will Boost Prosperity, Not Destroy JobsAddressing concerns that artificial intelligence could eliminate human jobs, Bezos rejected the notion that automation spells doom for workers. Instead, he compared AI’s rise to past technological leaps that advanced civilization.“Civilizational abundance comes from our inventions,” he said. “When someone invented the plough thousands of years ago, it made everyone richer. These tools expand our prosperity, and that trend will continue.”Bezos’s comments highlight his enduring belief in technology’s potential to enhance human life—whether through artificial intelligence transforming industries or space colonization redefining the boundaries of human existence.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
