“How far would you go for a billion dollars?” Would you put your life on the line? Would you be willing to die in front of the entire world for entertainment? That’s what Glen Powell is going to do in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man . This new adaptation of the Richard Bachman novel (written by Stephen King) will put Powell in the middle of the world’s deadliest TV show. But the final trailer for The Running Man makes it clear that he’s not the only one with everything to lose. That’s exactly why he’s so dangerous. This latest promo for The Running Man highlights why television producer Dan Killian truly found the show’s greatest contestant in Powell’s Ben Richards. The problem for Killian is that his latest player is actually too good. Here’s the official synopsis for The Running Man from Paramount Pictures to go with the trailer: In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian, to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall. The movie also stars Colman Domingo as the game show’s stylish host Bobby Thompson. It also features William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, and Jayme Lawson. Wright wrote the script with Michael Bacall ( Scott Pilgrim vs. the World). Will Ben Richards survive his 30 days as the world’s most wanted man? We’ll find out when The Running Man runs into theaters on November 14, 2025.
