Danny Welbeck admitted Manchester United are "the best side we have faced in a while" following Brighton's 4-2 defeat at Old Trafford . United started the game well and were rewarded thanks to Matheus Cunha's placed effort and Casemiro's deflected strike. Bryan Mbeumo made it three shortly after the break but the Seagulls did their best to make it nervy. Welbeck curled home a free kick to bag his seventh goal against United since leaving Old Trafford . When Charalampos Kostoulas headed home in added time the comeback could have been on. However, Mbeumo's second of the game sealed the 4-2 victory United deserved and continued their push up the table. Brighton have already played some big teams this season including Manchester City , Chelsea , Newcastle and Tottenham, but Welbeck says United are the best the Seagulls have played in a while. "It is the best side we have faced in a while," he told Sky Sports . "They were really organised and structure, they always have incredible players and today they really punished our mistakes. "A difficult game but one we can look back and analyse. I do believe we can come here and get the three points." Welbeck added: "There was a part of the game early on when we kind of dominated the ball and then a few silly mistakes led to goals against us. We are up against quality players so we know they can punish you at any time. "So being a bit sloppy and coming here to Old Trafford, we are not happy about that. Other than that, we felt we could have come here and got the three points - it's a learning curve for us." United are now sixth in the Premier League table, a point outside the Champions League spots.
