Bihar is set to hold its assembly elections in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for November 6, while voting for the second and final phase will take place on November 11 across 122 constituencies in 20 districts. The key alliances in the fray are the NDA (BJP, JDU, LJP, and others) and the Mahagathbandhan (Congress, RJD, CPI, CPI(M), and others). Amid the buzz surrounding the Bihar elections, a video has gone viral on social media featuring a 14-year-old boy named Amarjeet Kumar, whose insightful take on the elections has left the internet speechless and applauding his “maturity” at such a young age. The video was originally shared on the Instagram account @unfiltered_bysamdish. Journalist and influencer Samdish, who is currently in Bihar covering the elections, met two boys who completely left him stunned. In the clip, Samdish can be seen interacting with locals when a young boy approaches him. He asks the boy, “What is Bihar?” To this, the 13-year-old Suman Kumar replies, “Bihar is a colourful state. Ek Bihari sab par bhaari.” Soon, his friend Amarjeet Kumar, aged 14, joins the conversation. After listening to Suman, Amarjeet adds thoughtfully, “Sirf kehne se kuch nahi hota hai, jo vikas laayega uski party aayegi Bihar mein. We don’t care about caste. We care about development.” He continues, “Yehi karte karte Bihar peeche reh gaya hai. Yeh kehne se nahi hota hai, yeh karne se hota hai.” Impressed by his maturity, Samdish asks, “Aur kya karna chahiye Bihar ko? Yeh toh batao?” Amarjeet responds, “Bihar is lagging behind in literacy, but in sports they are far ahead. Yahan ke log yehi karte hain — bolna bahut jaante hain, par karna kuch nahi jaante. They talk nonsense.” Taken aback by the child’s wisdom, Samdish asks, “How do you have so much knowledge?” Amarjeet replies that he studies these topics at school. The conversation then shifts to the Birhor community in Bihar, which lives in extreme poverty. Both boys agree that the community lacks access to proper education. When asked why, Amarjeet explains, “There is a school. They don’t go to school. The teachers are not at fault — there’s one Pappu Sir who teaches properly. But the guardians don’t say anything. They don’t want to educate their children since they themselves are not educated. There is no such culture. They don’t care about studies — they just live their lives.” The video has touched many, spreading rapidly across social media platforms. One user commented, “Such clarity and maturity at the age of 14. The boy speaks the truth about Bihar that many adults still ignore.” Another wrote, “Political enlightenment at such an age! Asking the right questions — kind, articulate, respectful.” A third remarked, “Bhai sunke maza aagaya. The clarity and maturity at this age are too good. Kudos to him and his family for raising him so well.”
