Bihar Election 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of forcing the Congress to name Tejashwi Yadav as the opposition alliance’s chief ministerial candidate "at gunpoint". Addressing a rally in Arrah, the Bhojpur district headquarters, Modi claimed the Congress "never wanted" to back Yadav but gave in after the RJD "put a katta (country-made pistol) on its head". "After the elections, the two alliance partners will be fighting among themselves. Such people can never do good for Bihar," Modi said, targeting the INDIA bloc. He predicted a record victory for the ruling NDA, promising an “upright, foresighted” government focused on building a “developed Bihar for a Viksit Bharat.” ‘People Have Not Forgotten Jungle Raj’ The PM said the turnout at his rally showed a wave of support for the NDA. “Analysts in Delhi should come here and see which way the wind is blowing,” he said. Calling the opposition “jungle raj wallahs,” Modi said the people of Bihar “have not forgotten the misrule” under previous regimes. He also called the INDIA bloc’s manifesto a “dossier of lies,” contrasting it with the NDA’s “honest vision document.” Focus on Security, Article 370, and Operation Sindoor Modi highlighted the NDA government’s record on national security, particularly for veterans and soldiers. He said the “One Rank One Pension” (OROP) scheme had disbursed Rs 1 lakh crore to servicemen’s families. “It was Modi’s guarantee that Article 370 would be scrapped and it has been,” he said, adding that the Constitution now fully applies in Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to “Operation Sindoor,” he said the mission “made the nation proud,” while accusing the Congress of being “restless” during India’s military actions against terror camps in Pakistan. Attacks Congress Over 1984 Riots and Infiltration Raking up the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Modi accused the Congress of being “unapologetic” about the violence and promoting those responsible. He also took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “Voter Adhikar Yatra,” alleging it aimed to protect “infiltrators who steal the resources meant for the people of Bihar.” “The jungle raj wallahs have dangerous intentions,” Modi warned. PM Modi also said the NDA plans to develop Jagdishpur, the birthplace of freedom fighter Veer Kunwar Singh, while preserving Bihar’s cultural heritage. He accused the opposition of “mocking traditions,” citing Congress leaders’ remarks about the Maha Kumbh and Chhath Puja and further urged those who returned home for Chhath to stay back and cast their votes.
