A corporate employee is considering legal action after being accused of misconduct and being placed under a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). Posting on Reddit, the “anxious” employee said they had been issued a show-cause notice citing instances of call avoidance, delayed logins and an inappropriate call. “I’m a bit anxious for quite a few days,” they wrote in the post. ‘I Have Proofs…’ The employee claimed that the allegations were baseless and that they had documented proof of having informed their manager about technical issues affecting their performance. “I have the proofs wherein I already wrote my manager long back about the issue I was facing, and have rectified the procedure was right on the calls. On top of that, the delays in logins were primarily their system issues all coded,” the post read. The employee added that during the first disciplinary hearing, their manager allegedly relied on data comparing them with another colleague and refused to involve the technical team to verify their explanation. Following this, the employee presented their defence to a third-party review panel, which reportedly said it would respond in a few days. The employee sought advice from fellow Reddit users on whether to accept termination if it occurs or fight back legally, claiming the action appeared to be “planned” against them. “Please advise, shall I accept if they terminate, or shall I stand back up for what’s right since I know I’m not wrong. And if they say I’m terminated, can I tell them I need to go legally on this because it actually seems it’s just planning against me,” the post read. To which the employee confirmed that they were planning for the same, but the company officials have already told them they won’t be accepting resignations without a thorough investigation. “I just don’t want to get fired, I am planning to leave after a few months on my own rather,” they clarified. “Doesn’t seem like your manager is supportive, So yeah, you’re a boned dude. They must already have talked with HR about your performance, regardless of whether it is true or not, So yeah, I would look for the door,” suggested another person. Someone mentioned, “PIP means you must quit. In this, you can go clean and you’ll get an early release. In pip, start studying for a new job and interview; no point working on the given task. For the safer side keep all your imp communication emails with you and share personal ID.”
