Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP–Ram Vilas Paswan) chief Chirag Paswan on Wednesday hit out at Rahul Gandhi over his ‘H-bomb’ claim on vote-chori allegations against the Election Commission, saying the Congress leader is already making excuses fearing defeat in the Bihar elections. Speaking exclusively to Times Now, when asked to respond to Rahul Gandhi’s vote-chori allegations in Haryana and Bihar, Chirag Paswan said, “He has been saying this, but it hasn’t resonated well with the people of Bihar or India. It seems he is already making an excuse here, fearing defeat.” When asked about a young boy promoting 'katta' (country-made pistol) culture on the RJD stage, Chirag Paswan said this reflects their mindset and how they brainwash people. “We have been saying jungle raj will return if they are voted to power.” Asked about the mood in Bihar ahead of the first phase of voting on November 6 (tomorrow), Chirag Paswan said the atmosphere is positive. “Impressive response for us, and we are heading towards a victory.” When asked whether the NDA will cross 160-plus seats in Bihar, as claimed by Home Minister Amit Shah, Chirag Paswan said, “Definitely,” adding that he wouldn’t be surprised if the number goes well beyond that. Assembly election in Bihar will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11 while the counting of votes is set for November 14. There are a total of 243 Assembly constituencies in Bihar. In the first phase, polling will be held in 121 constituencies while the remaining 122 will vote in the second phase. What Rahul Gandhi Claimed in His Latest Vote-Theft Charge Rahul Gandhi earlier today alleged the 2024 Haryana assembly polls were "stolen", citing electoral roll data to claim that 25 lakh entries were fake and the Election Commission colluded with the BJP to ensure its victory. The 'centralised plan' included a Brazilian model whose photograph was used 22 times in 10 booths in the Rai assembly constituency using names such as "Seema, Sweety and Saraswati" for her, the former Congress president said at a press conference during which he put up a presentation "The H-files" to back his claim. How BJP Reacted to Rahul Gandhi's H-bomb Claim on Vote Theft The BJP dismissed the allegation of mass vote theft as "false and baseless" and accused the Congress leader of raising questions on the Election Commission to hide his failures and defame the country's democracy. Union minister Kiren Rijiju also accused Gandhi of trying to "instigate" the GenZ and asserted that such efforts will never succeed as India's youngsters are wise enough not to fall for such provocations. BJP leader's retort came hours after Gandhi cited electoral-list data from Haryana to claim that 25 lakh entries were "fake" and the poll victory in the state was "stolen" from the Congress party last year. The leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha said he has "100 per cent" proof of the malfeasance he has alleged. Rijiju rejected Gandhi's allegations as "baseless and false", and said he is alleging vote theft in the Haryana polls and abusing the EC, while his party colleagues have said the Congress lost the election due to its own reasons. "During the Haryana polls, their senior leader, Kumari Selja, had said the Congress will not be able to win because the Haryana Congress leader wanted the party to lose," he told a press conference at the BJP headquarters. "Three days ago, a former Congress leader resigned from the party and said the Congress lost the Haryana polls because its leaders were not working and were engaged in ensuring the party's defeat," Rijiju claimed. Haryana Congress president Rao Narendra Singh had also said there was no coordination in the party at the grassroots level, he added.
