The Chipotle message board rumor that circulated among Oklahoma fans turned out to be legitimate, and Mateer acknowledged his role in how the story leaked. The situation involved someone identified as MatDr. Shin, who apparently shared details about Mateer’s whereabouts at a Chipotle restaurant on an Oklahoma message board. Mateer’s reaction to the confirmation revealed his surprise at how quickly private information became public fodder: “How real was the Chipotle story? Because it was the Chipotle stuff, it was Dr. Shin’s stuff. Like shouldn’t be, like shouldn’t be just throwing my business out there but yeah, that’s real. Okay, I had to ask about that. You never pick it up on a message board. We got someone posing as Dr. Shin on the message board, and I’m like, I don’t think it was Dr. Shin.” Pickell asked. “That was me not realizing who I can trust and who I can’t trust… I didn’t think he would go and tell the whole world about it.” Mateeer said. Pickell: How has that been for you in general, because this whole spotlight on your career in Oklahoma and all those things, like how have you adjusted to that, brother? “I got DoorDash, so I don’t really go out in public a whole lot to get food anymore,” Mateer said. “It’s not that I don’t enjoy talking to people, but sometimes, you know, I need to chill and have my own space.”
