The community of Bray, and its many frequent visitors, are lamenting the loss of a popular establishment, Keegan's Home Bakery. Keegan's, which prided itself on helping customers 'discover the taste a generation lost', has been in business for 14 years, but is closing its doors for good on Saturday, October 25. A sign hung on the bakery's door confirmed the family-run business was closing due to 'recent unexpected circumstances', and locals have said it's a 'huge loss' to the area. It reads: 'Due to recent unexpected circumstances, it is with great sorrow that we must announce the closure of Keegan's Home Bakery on Saturday, October 25. 'It has been our greatest joy to be a part of the great community of Bray for the last 14 years. 'We hope that whether it has been a small treat for yourself or a wedding cake shared with family and friends that you enjoyed the fine, traditional taste of our goods.' It concludes with a message from the family, which reads: 'From Kim, Stephen, Arron, and all the team here, we thank you all for your support over the years and wish you well. With the warmest regards, Keegan's Home Bakery, an Irish family bakery.' One disappointed customer penned: 'Very sad to see another family business closing. Families are at the heart of the community. 'I'm sorry to hear this news, and I wish all family and staff good health for their future.' Another wrote: 'That is so sad. I loved going there. The staff were absolutely amazing, and they always had time for a chat. 'I wish them all the best of luck for the future. They will be greatly missed,' and there are hundreds of similar comments.
