A "tense" thriller has landed on ITVX for free, four years after its original broadcast. Featuring Line of Duty star Anna Maxwell Martin , Hollington Drive initially premiered in 2021, but the four-part drama has only recently become available on the streaming service. The compelling series follows two sisters whose lives descend into turmoil when their seemingly perfect neighbourhood on Hollington Drive is plunged into every parent's worst fear - a 10-year-old boy vanishes. Dark secrets rapidly emerge as family bonds are put to the test and they battle to keep their households intact. Anna portrays café proprietor Theresa, whilst Rachael Stirling takes on the role of her sister Helen, a primary school head, reports the Express . The ensemble also includes Rhashan Stone, Jonas Armstrong, Ken Nwosu, Jim Howick, and Amelie Bea Smith. The official description states: "Sisters and social pillars within the community, Theresa and Helen struggle to hold their lives and their families together in the wake of this tragedy. Secrets and lies begin to surface and long held facades falter as grief rips through Hollington Drive." Viewers are rediscovering the programme after its initial airing, with one penning a review stating: "I was gripped and entertained by the story. Like any good crime drama I was wrong in all my guesses about who dunnit. From the beginning I thought it was the little girl... then I thought it was the dead boy's father .... The denouement was a complete surprise." A second said: "I really enjoyed this show. Very well written and I loved the twist at the end. I was not expecting that!!" Another wrote: "The show is a slow burning mystery thriller with interesting characters, including children. Good casting, good story, and it wraps up nicely in the final episode." Someone else said: "Excellent mini series. Plot, script and acting kept me guessing to the very end!!" One fan also added: "Excellent! Lots of twists and turns keeps you on your toes." Another wrote: "Each episode flows in a lively, tense and stimulating manner, thanks to the slow reveal format and a number of twists along the way. Commendably, our ever-changing view of events never strays far from the believable, and is consistently backed up by the detail." Several others called it "gripping" and "engaging", and another echoed: "The story really gets under your skin and you can almost literally feel the suffocating tension in your gut and neck as the storyline progresses." Ahead of the show's release, Anna spoke about the plot and how it stood out from other dramas. She said: "It's really exciting to be part of something like that, not a cookie-cutter 'Oh god another child goes missing' drama, which this is not." She added: "This is about people and relationships and oddness, it's such a brilliant ensemble cast. We were really lucky to have such brilliantly weird, intricate actors that brought a lot of oddness and humour and that's what I really enjoyed about it." Hollington Drive is now available to watch on ITVX.
