A video of an Indian-American activist has gone viral, in which he sharply criticises Indians living in the US for creating “Diwali chaos.” During the recent Diwali celebrations in America, several incidents were reported after festivities allegedly got out of control. Following the chaos, many people took to social media to express their disapproval of how the celebrations unfolded. The Indian-American activist pointed out in his video that in the US, “not only Indians live there, but others live there too.” The video was posted on Instagram by Avi Dandiya (@avidandiyaofficial). In the clip, he says, “Seedhi basha samajh mein nahi aati kya? Tum logon ka matha kharab ho gaya hai. Yeh pichle jo 2-3 saalon se bawal kaata hua hai yahan America mein, isko band kar do, main bata raha hoon. Maine pehle bhi kaha tha — Ganesh Chaturthi ke time par bhi kaha tha aur aaj phir keh raha hoon. Tum logon ko pata bhi hai ke ek halki si spark 10,000 sq ft ke ghar ko raakh mein badal sakti hai. His video has since been reshared by various Instagram pages online. As the clip continues to circulate, it has sparked mixed reactions across social media. While some users defended Dandiya and said “he is absolutely right,” others criticised his tone. One user wrote, “He was absolutely spot on.” Another commented, “This is so true! I had to literally please my landlord because he thought Indians aren’t a good fit to stay in colocation!
