Holidaymakers seeking a cosy staycation in the UK may want to consider a 'gorgeous' destination that looks 'dreamy' in the autumn months. A travel lover has sung the praises of the New Forest, suggesting it as the ideal location for a weekend break. Located in southern England, the national park has lots to captivate visitors. Its website explains: "From beautiful scenery to free-roaming animals, fascinating history to scenic coastline, there's something for everyone in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire." The views certainly impressed travel creator Elise Tanriverdi, who praised the destination in a recent video shared on her Instagram @elisetanriverdi . Recommending the national park, Elise said the New Forest looks 'beautiful' throughout the year, but that she thinks it is best to visit in autumn, reports the Daily Record . She wrote: "If you're looking for a weekend getaway this autumn then I honestly cannot recommend the New Forest enough. The colours in October and November are so gorgeous, golden leaves, crisp walks, cosy fires and those dreamy autumn views. It's beautiful year round, but autumn is definitely my favourite time to visit." Elise shared recommendations for anyone people planning to visit. She said: "Start your day in Burley, a little village famous for witchcraft and quirky shops. Grab a coffee at Noohn (the cutest café), pop into the witchcraft shops, wander through the village and maybe even get a tarot reading. You can have lunch here or head to Lyndhurst for more shops, cafés and restaurants. "In the afternoon, stop at a local farm shop for some produce (and another coffee if you fancy it!) before heading out on a walk. There are so many beautiful trails but a few favourites are the Appleslade walk in Ringwood, the Brockenhurst village walk and the Horseshoe Bottom loop. "After your walk, head to a pub or restaurant for dinner and if it's a Sunday, a roast is an absolute must. And that's it – the perfect autumn day in the New Forest." The video delighted viewers, who loved the recommendations. One social media user replied: "Omg New Forest looks amazing." A second viewer thought: "Just a perfect getaway." Someone else praised: "Perfect Autumn destination." Another commenter said: "It's certainly a fave of ours too, I recommend the holmsley old railway line and blackwater arboretum. Make sure to respect the new Forest code and don't approach the animals etc." Before visiting, it could be worth reading TripAdvisor reviews for the locations you're going to see, and to find more suggestions. TripAdvisor says: "If you need a word to perfectly describe New Forest, 'welcoming' would be it. The lowland (i.e. no mountains) park is filled with scenic views and wide trails that beg to be explored as they wind through centuries-old woodlands. "Visit Bolderwood, a protected forest and deer sanctuary that was once the hunting grounds of the Norman kings. Fish at Moors Valley before heading skyward for a treetops walk. Prefer the country-house life? Head to Beaulieu, where you can get lost in the Victorian-era at the Palace House before following in the footsteps of medieval monks at the property's abbey."
