When you check into a hotel room, you anticipate being able to unwind in peace without any interruptions. Whether you're staying overnight for work purposes, or you're on a break exploring a fresh destination , hotels exist to ensure you can enjoy restful sleep, even when you're away from your own bedroom. Whilst certain hotels boast luxurious features such as mini bars, the most crucial element of any accommodation is the bed itself. You desire a cosy spot to lay your head, particularly if you're knackered from a day of journeying or exploring. What you certainly don't anticipate discovering is something scuttling about beneath the covers. That's the disturbing encounter one bloke on Instagram experienced when he settled down on his hotel bed for the evening, only to leap straight back up because he was certain he "heard something" amongst the bedding. Parker Pannell posted footage of himself peeling back the covers as he attempted to locate the source of the sound, but after stripping away the duvet and mattress protector, he couldn't spot any creepy creatures or unwelcome objects in his sleeping area. Nevertheless, he could still detect the sound of something moving about in his bed, so he examined the base of the bed frame - and what he discovered left him absolutely horrified. Nestled between his mattress and the timber frame surrounding his bed was an enormous crab. Parker, who didn't reveal which hotel he was staying at, attempted to capture the sea creature that had somehow made its way into his accommodation, but the crustacean began scuttling along the edge of his bed, cornering itself before coming to a halt. The man grabbed a towel to shield his hands as he made another attempt to seize the creature, whilst instructing the other people in the room with him to "call security" for the hotel. Parker successfully captured the crab, with the footage concluding as he carefully lifted the animal from the bed and displayed it to the camera. It remains unclear what Parker did with the crab, though he confirmed in the comments that he was staying at a beachfront hotel, suggesting he likely returned the crustacean safely to the sea. Viewers were equally puzzled by the man's unexpected hotel visitor, though many also ridiculed Parker for requesting his mates call security, noting, "it's a crab, not a murderer". One person commented: "NOPE! I'd be OUT the door and DOWN the hall the moment I saw that." Another remarked: "Could be worse. Could be bed bugs." A third posted: "New fear unlocked."
