A science fiction action thriller featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis is set to air on Legend Xtra tonight. The film, set in 2074, revolves around "present-day" contract killers who are tasked with eliminating targets sent back in time by future criminal syndicates. The critically acclaimed and commercially successful film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Joe and Bruce Willis portraying an older version of the same character. In the film, titled Looper, Joe works for a Kansas City crime syndicate as a "looper", an assassin. This syndicate sends its adversaries back in time to be eliminated, leading to a shocking revelation for Joe, reports the Express . Fans have taken to Google Reviews to express their opinions on the film, with Mark Bond stating: "It never gets old does it. "Looper is an absolute gem in the sci-fi genre, brilliantly executed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a role that showcases his incredible range as an actor. "From the moment the film begins, you're thrown into a world where time travel exists, but with a twist that's both intriguing and emotionally gripping. "Gordon-Levitt's performance as Joe is nothing short of mesmerising; he captures the complexity of a man confronting his own future self with such authenticity that you can't help but be drawn into his moral and existential dilemmas." Brandon Sean Pearson added: "Looper is a wild time travel tale told by the ingenious writer/director Rian Johnson. "Johnson doesn't get enough love. His ability to knock out rock solid sci-fi films (The Last Jedi) as well as timely whodunits (The Knives Out Trilogy, Poker Face series) while occasionally dabbling in twisty indies (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) proves him to be the 21st Century's Billy Wilder. That is his equal. "The film is brilliant and visually dazzling with strong performances and where it's time travel plot may stumble here and there, the emotional journey of the characters is the real magic here." Nextech Reviews remarked: "The film is a complex and thought-provoking exploration of time travel, free will, and the consequences of our actions. The movie's visual style is stunning, with its use of muted colors and futuristic technology creating a unique and immersive world. The characters are well-developed, with each one having their own motivations and struggles." The picture secured five accolades, including a Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie. Looper is broadcasting on Legend Xtra at 9pm.
