A "stomach-churning" dystopian film, hailed as one of the best thrillers of 2025, is now available to stream in the UK, just in time for Halloween. Based on Stephen King's 1979 famous novel of the same name, The Long Walk, has arrived on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. The plot follows a group of desperate young men who set off on a deadly journey to win a life-changing amount of cash. While their mission is simply just to keep walking, the men are essentially playing with their lives, as there is no finish line in sight and only one potential winner. The characters must maintain a speed of at least three miles an hour, risking fatal consequences if they don't keep up. Overseeing their quest is sinister villain The Major, whose ruthless nature is clearly displayed as the men begin to grow tired. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film adaptation of King's The Long Walk was released in cinemas in September but is now available to rent for £15.99 or buy for £19.99 on Prime Video and Apple TV. The film stars Cooper Hoffman as protagonist Ray Garraty while Judy Greer portrays Ray's mother Ginnie. The terrifying Major who rules over the young competitors is played by Mark Hamill. Other names in the film include David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Charlie Plummer, Roman Griffin Davis and Ben Wang. Get the latest celebrity gossip and telly news sent straight to your inbox.
