A budding wrestling name who recently opted not to renew her developmental deal with WWE reportedly has received interest from AEW. The star in question, Zayda Steel, has not been seen in action since this October. "Thee Real Deal" began her journey inside the squared circle in 2022, and over the years has performed in a number of independent promotions, including MLW, GCW, DEFY, PROGRESS Wrestling, Beyond Wrestling and more. Late last year, Zayda signed on with WWE as a part of the Stamford-based company's developmental program, WWE ID. She wrestled several matches on Evolve throughout 2025, and unsuccessfully participated in the WWE ID Women's Championship tournament as well. Last month, Steel announced that she was not going to renew her WWE ID contract. Now, a report has emerged claiming that AEW had made contact with the up-and-comer around the same time in October, suggesting that the company could be interested in acquiring her. Fans have since taken to X/Twitter to share their reactions to AEW reaching out to Zayda Steel after she seemingly walked away from the sports entertainment juggernaut. While a few users were critical of the Tony Khan-led company for being interested in a former WWE ID talent, most other comments were supportive of the prospects of Steel signing on with All Elite Wrestling, although some also advocated for a potential TNA run.
