Valentina Shevchenko has publicly backed Joe Rogan following Ronda Rousey’s recent attack on his credibility. The UFC women's flyweight champion called Rogan a genuine martial arts expert and role model.Rousey’s remarks had reignited a feud that had been years in the making. Once Rogan’s favorite during her dominant title run, she turned against him after he walked back his exaggerated praise following her brutal defeats to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. However, she made it clear that Amanda Nunes was her real target.At the time, Shevchenko was preparing for a rematch with Nunes after a close 2016 defeat. Nunes had already stopped Rousey in under a minute, and Shevchenko wanted to prove she could succeed where Rousey failed.
