It appears Jake Paul could be going up against Ryan Garcia instead of Gervonta Davis in a boxing match this month. Fans were sent into a frenzy after reports suggested that Paul's team reached out to Garcia to negotiate a potential contract after Davis found himself in legal hot water earlier this week.Paul and Davis were set to throw down in an exhibition boxing match on Nov. 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. However, a civil lawsuit was filed against Davis by his former partner for alleged battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress on Tuesday. This development could potentially force Davis to withdraw from his fight against Paul. As a result, Paul's team is reportedly scrambling to find a replacement.According to Sports Illustrated, Garcia has been singled out as a potential option to replace Davis, among other boxers, for a fight in December. After @HappyPunch shared the news via an X post, many fans flocked to the comments section to express their thoughts. One fan wrote:"Ryan isn’t gonna do that bs."Another fan wrote:"I need to see Jake fight someone in his weight class that’s what they are for."Check out some more fan reactions below:Screenshots from @HappyPunch on XUFC veteran previews Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis boxing matchWhile it's unclear whether Gervonta Davis will fight Jake Paul as scheduled later this month, UFC veteran Matt Brown believes the WBA lightweight champion could "destroy" the former Disney star if they threw down.In an interview with MMA Fighting (via @MMAFighting on X), Brown claimed Davis could punish Paul if he took the fight seriously:"I tell you what we’re going to learn, if 'Tank' Davis takes it serious, 'Tank' Davis is going to beat his a*s. I just don’t know if 'Tank’s' going to take it serious. Mentally, I don’t know how checked out he’s been for a while, to be honest... I don’t know where he’s at mentally."He continued:"But if he’s at the top of his game mentally, he should destroy Jake Paul easily. I say that because 'Tank' has amazing defense. He’s little and he’s way faster. Jake is not good enough to catch him. Like 'Tank' should be able to run circles around him and touch him up. He may not knock him out. He’s got 100 f*cking pounds on him but ['Tank'] is going to touch him and he’s going to hurt him. He should not really get hit much in this fight."
