His team is down - Jake Paul shares major stumbling block to massive fight against Alex Pereira

Jake Paul has his sights set on Alex Pereira, but getting the UFC light heavyweight champion to the boxing ring is another fight altogether. The Brazilian has reportedly shown interest, although the promotion’s tight contracts are blocking the path.Paul said Pereira’s team is ready to make the fight happen. The only hurdle is getting the UFC to sign off, which has rarely happened in crossover bouts. That being said, Paul believes this matchup could become one of the biggest events in combat sports if both sides can find common ground. Speaking in an interview with ESPN, Nakisa Bidarian, the CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, said:"I think that is a perfect fight to further show Jake's dominance over the best of the best in MMA. I think many would dismiss it and say Pereira would kill Jake Paul, but somebody should ask Dana White and see what he says. If Dana White ever actually felt comfortable that one of his martial artists could beat Jake Paul, he would 100 per cent endorse it because no matter what Dana may say, there'd be nothing he would enjoy more than seeing Jake Paul lose."Paul added:"His team is down [to do the fight]. I think the only thing preventing it is the UFC, and if these guys can get out of their contracts to fight me. It would be a massive fight at some point, and I know he's down to make it happen."When Jake Paul claimed he saw openings in Alex Pereira’s game after Khalil Rountree Jr. fightAs Jake Paul watched Alex Pereira’s win over Khalil Rountree Jr., he saw flaws he believes he could exploit in a boxing ring. Pereira had to rally from two rough rounds before stopping Rountree in the fourth round at UFC 307.Paul claimed the fight showed weaknesses in the champion’s defense and bodywork. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been eyeing a fight against Pereira, confident that his boxing pace would overwhelm the Brazilian’s power-based style.Speaking to Adin Ross about the potential fight, he said:''One thousand per cent I would beat him. That's the thing, Rountree actually kind of exposed that he doesn't have a high-volume output. He doesn't like body shots. In MMA, Pereira would rip my head off. But boxing is a completely different sport, and the pace of it, and the style of it... He has holes. I mean, Rountree rocked him, hurt him a couple of times to the body, but didn't follow up on it."Check out Jake Paul's comments below (11:00)
