Hear me President Trump: Zohran Mamdani sends message to POTUS after NYC mayoral win, claims New York will remain a city of immigrants

After winning the New York City mayoral election, Zohran Mamdani took a shot at President Trump in his victory speech on Tuesday. Mamdani won the race for the City Hall after defeating Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.Following his victory on November 4, Zohran Mamdani addressed his supporters in Brooklyn and said, "We have toppled a political dynasty." The new mayor-elect took a jab at Andrew Cuomo. Mamdani, who centered his campaign around rent and immigrants issues, then challenged President Trump and said:"So, Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you. Turn the volume up.... Indeed, New York will remain a city of immigrants. A city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight, led by an immigrant. So hear me, President Trump, when I say this. To get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us."Mamdani said after entering office he would hold those landlords to account who took "advantage of their tenants." Taking a shot at the POTUS, he added that he would "put an end to the culture of corruption" that had allowed "billionaires like Trump" to evade taxes and exploit tax breaks. In his speech, Zohran Mamdani said his victory offered a pathway to "stop Trump.""After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him. And if there is any way to terrify a despot, it is by dismantling the very conditions that allowed him to accumulate power. This is not only how we stop Trump, it's how we stop the next one," Mamdani said.Donald Trump shared his response following Mamdani's victory. In his Tuesday Truth Social post, he wrote:"'TRUMP WASN’T ON THE BALLOT, AND SHUTDOWN, WERE THE TWO REASONS THAT REPUBLICANS LOST ELECTIONS TONIGHT,' according to Pollsters."President Trump previously warned of cutting funds if Zohran Mamdani wonjohnny maga @_johnnymagaLINKTrump sends a warning to Zohran Mamdani: "I can tell you this — whoever is mayor of New York is going to have to behave themselves or the federal government is coming down very tough on them financially."The US President strongly opposed Mamdani in New York's mayoral elections. Just before the election, the President shared a post on Truth Social and warned of limiting federal funds to New York in case of Zohran Mamdani's victory."If Communist Candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the election for Mayor of New York City, it is highly unlikely that I will be contributing Federal Funds, other than the very minimum as required, to my beloved first home, because of the fact that, as a Communist, this once great City has ZERO chance of success, or even survival!" Trump wrote. He said that New York City would be a "Complete and Total Economic and Social Disaster" if Mamdani won. The POTUS added that Mamdani's "principles" had been tested for over a thousand years and had never once been successful. Further in his post, he urged people to vote for Andrew Cuomo."Whether you personally like Andrew Cuomo or not, you really have no choice. You must vote for him, and hope he does a fantastic job. He is capable of it, Mamdani is not!" the President added.Zohran Mamdani will be sworn in as the mayor of New York City on January 1 next year. Also read: “New York is over”: 50 Cent reacts to Zohran Mamdani winning the NYC mayoral election
