Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette was left puzzled after a bizarre sequence in Game 3 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on Monday.During the second inning, Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow threw a high pitch to Daulton Varsho on a 3-2 count. Home plate umpire Mark Wegner didn't call it a strike, which led Varsho and Bichette, who were on first, to believe it was a ball.Just as Varsho started walking to first, Wegner signalled a strike. Glasnow threw the ball to first baseman Freddie Freeman, who tagged a stranded Bichette on the base paths.Fans reacted to the home plate umpire's delayed call that left Bichette stranded."A firing won’t suffice it’s prison for that umpire."r² @randallrungoodLINKA firing won’t suffice it’s prison for that umpire"I just called the umps wife to tell her he’s cheating. During an inning break, Schneider made his feelings known on the call.“[It was a] very delayed call, pretty deliberate,” Schneider said. ”Just didn’t say anything, so Varsh assumed it was a ball, and Bo assumed. I just asked him, in this environment, can he be a little bit quicker or give a little more clarity so everyone kind of knows what’s going on.”The Dodgers scored another run in the third to take a 2-0 lead before Alejandro Kirk's three-run blast in the fourth inning made it 4-2 for the Blue Jays. The game is tied 5-5 after eight innings.
